Membership and family portal

Someone keeping an eye, and a way for you to see it

Membership is what happens after the work is done. One visit every month, the house checked over, the small things dealt with, and a note afterwards so you know how it went.

One membership

There is only one, so there is nothing to compare. A monthly fee, a visit every month, and us on the end of the phone in between.

What happens each month

  • We audit the house again, room by room, and check it is still safe
  • We look for upkeep before it turns into a problem
  • Small jobs are covered while we are there, a bulb changed, a handle tightened, a battery replaced
  • Anything that needs a quote is written up and reported to you

And it comes with

  • A short written note to the family after every visit
  • Family portal access for the family members your parent chooses
  • One point of contact, and a person who knows the house
  • Priority booking when something needs doing
  • An annual review of the Staying Home Plan

What happens on a check-in visit

A friendly half hour, not an inspection. We keep the same visitor wherever we can, and your parent reads the note we write.

Anything that needs doing is written up and priced. No work is carried out until it has been approved on the portal.

  • Rails, banisters and grab handles still solid
  • Lighting checked, and any bulbs listed for approval
  • Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms tested
  • Personal alarm charged, worn and understood
  • Paths and steps clear, outside light working
  • Anything new that has become difficult
  • Small jobs quoted on the spot, and carried out once you approve them on the portal

The family portal

One page you can open on your phone at lunchtime. What is booked, what has been done, and what it cost. No app to install.

Nothing happens without approval

Every job is listed on the portal with its price, and it stays there until someone approves it. No work starts before that, so there are never surprises on an invoice.

Your parent decides who sees it

We ask them who to share the portal with, and we write it down. They can change that at any time, or ask us to stop sharing altogether.

The same visitor wherever we can

Someone who knows the house and knows your parent, so each visit picks up where the last one left off.

You can start with the work only

Membership is optional. Have the assessment, have the jobs done, and take it out later if and when it would help.

Talk it through before you commit

Ask us whether membership makes sense yet. Often the answer is not straight away.
